September 4th & 5th Mark a win up for Hilltop Racing and Hawkins Racecraft. Neil Hawkins drove the HRC built 05 Roush Mustang to a win in Ultimate Street at the inaugural UORS Race at I-22 dragway!.
May 3, 2009 Orangeburg Race Recap:
The ORSCA race in Orangeburg SC presented a sub-par race track for everyone. With bald spots on the starting line and a greasy surface all the way to the finish line, every team was faced with the challenge of getting from A to B without smoking the tires.
In Modified Street, HRC / Hilltop Racing qualified in the 6th position, but fell to event winner Eric Kenward in the 2nd round. The team of Alan and Kevin Halbert qualified 11th out of 23. Their Mustang was running excellent, especially considering the track conditions but a 2nd round loss to Jeff Paulk put them in the trailer. HRC customers Tony Murphy and Ken Rainwater both made it to the finals in their respective classes. Tony won the 6.0 class and Ken took the runner-up spot in Outlaw. As you may already know, the ORSCA season opener at I-22 was cancelled due to weather. The next race will be in Orangeburg SC. See the flyer below. Hawkins Racecraft & Hilltop Racing will be there for Modified Street competition.
